Road Not Required

A British icon reborn as a Swiss Made timepiece

Pre-order, October 15

The RNR Collection - recycled from the iconic Land Rover - is our first ‘from the ground up’ design in two years. But not only this, the RNR marks something pretty special for REC Watches: It’s our first Swiss Made watch collection marking the birth of a new era for REC Watches.

The RNR (Road Not Required) is based on and contains a piece of metal from two iconic Land Rovers:

A 2003 Land Rover Defender - THE RNR ROCKFIGHTER

A 1983 Land Rover Series III - THE RNR BEACHRUNNER

Retail price: $1,795.00 USD

The RNR Rockfighter

The RNR ROCKFIGHTER contains a piece of metal and a design based on the 2003 Land Rover Defender owned by German gentleman, tour guide and owner of 4x4 Experience, Michael Ortner. A tool used to climb the steepest mountains and to cross the deepest creeks on his many adventure trips.

The RNR Beach Runner contains a piece of metal and is based on the 1983 Land Rover Series III owned by Portuguese photographer and filmmaker, Daniel Espirito Santo. A close and personal companion to an artist who spends most of his days surfing and taking pictures along the way.

Captivating the design DNA of the British Icon has been a task 3 years in the making. Re-capturing the iconic design trademarks of the Land Rover while designing a timepiece that can stand on its own was no easy task. The imposing and majestic form factor of the Land Rover has been distilled into a 40mm timepiece that pays homage to the British icon.

Both the 2003 Land Rover Defender and the 1983 Land Rover Series III represent something unique for their owners. The bond between man and machines is particularly strong with this collection.

Raw material from both Land Rover vehicles is punched into watch dials, coated with a clear lacquer and respectively built directly into the design of both the RNR Rock Fighter and the RNR Beach Runner – giving new life to the two iconic vehicles.

The many miles, countries and adventures traveled by both watches are distilled into two unique and timepieces that represent the best REC Watches has ever produced.

Sign up now to be first in line when we reveal the final design on October 15th – Limited to 450 pieces.
