Project P51 Little Red

DNA Edition

The P51 Little Red is a limited-edition timepiece made from Carroll Shelby’s 1967 EXP500 prototype, known as ‘Little Red.

This iconic big-block Shelby notchback coupe played a vital role in the development of the Ford Mustang and American muscle cars. Originally intended as the prototype for Ford’s 1968 California Special Mustang, it was long thought to be lost or destroyed.

After years of being a hidden treasure among collectors, an exhaustive search led by Craig Jackson successfully unearthed and restored Little Red.

Parts from this restoration have been repurposed for the dials of the P51 Little Red timepieces. With its striking red-and-black color palette, the P51 Little Red stands out on the wrist, complemented by a double calf leather strap and a sleek 42mm cushion case for luxurious comfort.

Two of a kind

Shelby Experimental

Little Red was a one-off prototype built to test the viability of introducing a coupe to Shelby’s elite 1967–68 Mustang lineup. It was experimental in name and spirit – radical in design, function, and intent.

Its vivid red finish and fastback profile distinguished it from typical Shelby designs, and decades later, it remains a cult icon among muscle car historians and enthusiasts.

Lost and found in

Tornado Valley

Little Red was long believed to be lost to time – a prototype destined for the crusher. But for Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson, finding it became a personal mission rooted in his passion for American muscle cars.

With relentless determination, he assembled a specialist team and tracked the car to rural North Texas, where it was finally unearthed on March 3, 2018 – deep in the heart of Tornado Alley.

Tribute to a

True Original

Every detail of the P51 Little Red was engineered to echo its namesake – from the salvaged metal dial to subtle references in case and strap design.

The goal was to build more than a watch. We aimed to capture a Shelby legend in wearable form – authentic, powerful, and unmistakably American.
