Project 901 GW Exoskeleton

DNA Edition

The 901 GW Exoskeleton is a limited edition timepiece created in collaboration with Gunther Werks, the California-based atelier known for radically reimagining the Porsche 993.

Their mission: what if Porsche had built a GT3RS version of the 993? Each creation fuses modern track-ready engineering with the legacy of air-cooled performance.

Developed alongside Gunther Werks founder Peter Nam, this ultra-limited model embodies the same brutal elegance and obsessive precision that define the Exoskeleton project.

Crafted from recycled carbon fiber sourced directly from the commission’s bodywork, the 901 GW Exoskeleton is as sustainable as it is striking – a tribute to engineering without compromise.

When Form

Meets Function

Gunther Werks isn’t interested in nostalgia – they’re rewriting the script. At the heart of their vision is the 993 Carbon Exoskeleton, a fully exposed, track-focused reimagining of Porsche’s last air-cooled icon.

Their secret weapon is carbon fiber. Layer by layer, panel by panel, the tub and doors are all that remain from the original. The result is a purpose-built beast that looks like sculpture and performs like a scalpel.

Carbon

Connoisseurs

Each Gunther Werks commission starts with a bare tub – and ends with a carbon-clad masterpiece. The result is both brutally modern and beautifully analog.

To honor that, we integrated carbon fiber granulate directly from the Carbon Exoskeleton into the watch case itself. Not just symbolic – structurally real. This is material storytelling at its peak.

The 901 Series

Remastered

Since 2017, our 901 Series has honored the air-cooled 911 in all its forms. But the Exoskeleton changes everything. This is our first model with a Swiss-made chronograph movement and a six-part carbon case structure.

It’s faster, lighter, and sharper – just like the car that inspired it. A new platform for the next era of REC.
