Project BRE46

DNA Edition
Coming Soon

The BRE46 is a DNA Limited Edition timepiece, featuring authentic components sourced from the championship-winning Datsun 240Z BRE No. 46 — the car that dominated the C Production National Championships in 1970 and 1971 under the legendary driver John Morton and team owner Peter Brock.

This car became a motorsport icon for its striking red, white, and blue livery and its unmatched success on the track, cementing the Datsun 240Z’s place in racing history and proving that Japanese engineering could stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best.

The BRE46 timepiece is a one-of-a-kind collaboration, combining original car DNA with refined horological craftsmanship. Powered by a Japanese engine (Miyota Cal. 9039), just like the Datsun 240Z, each piece celebrates the early 1970s racing era and the legacy of the Datsun 240Z BRE No. 46.

Questions About the Project
When is this project opening for pre-order?

We’re currently expecting to launch and open for pre-orders in mid-November.

Make sure to sign up for the launch list so you’ll be part of it when we go live. Those who sign up will get early access and receive the 48-Hour Launch Offer.

Why does REC launch differently than other watch brands?

At REC, we don’t spend a year sitting on a finished watch, waiting just to build hype or chase celebrity endorsements. We launch as soon as the timepiece is perfected, not a moment later. As you’re reading this, we’re putting the final touches on the development of the BRE46 timepiece.

That’s also why you’re seeing sketches and concept drawings, because the moment the watch is ready, we’ll open the curtains and show it to you. We want you to be part of the process, to see it take shape rather than discover it long after it’s done.

Because for us, it’s never just about a name on the dial. Every watch we make is about honouring history and telling stories that deserve to be told, one watch at a time. And you’re part of that story too. That’s why we open up about each project as soon as we can, even before the timepiece is finished: to bring you closer, earlier, and more honestly than most brands ever will.

What will the price be?

The retail price is expected to be around $995–$1,500. A limited number of BRE46 timepieces will be available for pre-order during the 48-Hour Launch Offer. This is your chance to secure an exclusive launch discount, available only for the few BRE46 pieces released in that window.

Total production will be strictly limited to 923 timepieces, but only a select few will be offered for pre-order.

What will the watches look like?

In the images above, you can see early sketches and concept drawings of the timepiece. But as our experience in watchmaking has taught us, no sketch can truly capture how a finished timepiece feels in hand or looks on the wrist.

What does the 48-Hour Launch Offer include?

We’re preparing a special launch offer for this project. While we can’t yet reveal the full details, one thing is certain: you don’t want to miss it.

For 48 hours only, you’ll be able to secure an exclusive launch-only price that will never return. This offer also includes extra benefits reserved solely for those who show up at launch, along with early access before anyone else.

Only 923 BRE46 timepieces will ever be produced, and just a select few of those will be available during the launch offer.

We can’t reveal everything just yet due to ongoing collaborations and approvals, just know that we’re working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this project and launch worthwhile.

The Rivalry That Redefined Racing

Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

When Toyota suddenly pulled its promised 2000GTs from Brock Racing Enterprises in 1967 and handed them to Shelby American, Peter Brock wasn’t just disappointed; he was determined.

Determined to beat his former boss and prove that innovation, not budget, decides victory. Looking for the perfect weapon, Brock turned his eye to Datsun’s underperforming 2000 roadsters, dismissed by many as uncompetitive.

Datsun 240Z BRE no. 46

Nissan informed BRE of the coming introduction of their brilliantly conceived Datsun 240Z.

BRE’s first 240Z (serial #492) arrived mid-season in 1970 on the first boat of Datsun Zs to enter the States. Seen here in the BRE shop, it came with a SOHC 2.4 litre, inline six-cylinder engine, designated the L24. This engine was originally designed for street use but BRE developed it into a potent race engine.
